Who Can Visit?
Daily Bread Ministries is a food bank that works through a network of over 100 churches and ministries across San Antonio. Food is not distributed directly to individuals at this warehouse location. If you're in need of food assistance, call (210) 223-4707 and they'll connect you with a ministry partner near you who can help.
Food & Essentials
Daily Bread collects fresh and shelf-stable food from local schools, produce vendors, catering agencies, and wholesale suppliers. Their warehouse is equipped with large refrigeration and freezer units to keep food fresh and safe until it reaches partner organizations.
How to Pick Up
Daily Bread distributes food three times a week to their network of ministry partners. These partners include local churches with food pantries, transitional housing facilities, rehab centers, and children's outreach programs, who then share the food directly with people in their local communities.
Additional Support
Through their ministry partners, Daily Bread offers two free educational courses that help people build a stronger foundation:
- Faith and Finance covers budgeting, tracking spending, avoiding predatory lending, and understanding the difference between needs and wants from a faith perspective.
- Raising Highly Capable Kids helps parents build strong parenting skills by focusing on the developmental assets every child needs to thrive.
These courses are available through partner churches and ministries, not at the Daily Bread warehouse.
Ways to Give
You can make a one-time or monthly gift at the Daily Bread giving page. Recurring gifts help Daily Bread plan and expand their ministry throughout the year.
Food donations are also welcome. Daily Bread doesn't accept expired or opened items, and they can't take homemade canned goods. They also run food drives for specific items like macaroni and cheese or peanut butter and jelly, and can deliver food drive barrels to your location or let you pick one up from the warehouse. To find out what's most needed or to schedule a pickup or delivery, call (210) 223-4707 or email info@dbmsa.org.
How to Join the Team?
Daily Bread welcomes volunteers including individuals, families, businesses, and church groups. Volunteer opportunities include helping in the warehouse, food distribution, and training programs. To get involved, visit the volunteer page and fill out the interest form. Let them know whether you're coming as an individual or with a group, and if it's a group, include the number of participants so they can plan ahead.
Churches and ministries can also apply to become a ministry partner and join the food distribution network. Download the English application or the Spanish application from their website.
