Who Can Visit?

The Basilica Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen is open to individuals and families in need, including the homeless, homeless veterans, and the poor. Children who aren't receiving federally funded school meals while school is out of session are also served. No prior registration or appointment is needed to visit.

Good to Know

Visitors can expect a generous amount of food rather than just a few canned goods. The pantry describes what it gives out as "a cornucopia of nutritious meat, fruit, vegetables as well as other items" to help families feel a sense of dignity. The pantry serves an average of 600 families per week.

Food & Essentials

The pantry provides meat, fresh fruit, vegetables, and a wide variety of pantry items. One visitor noted the selection includes lots of meat and lots of pantry items, along with some produce. There is no dairy offered. The pantry also participates in USDA food distribution.

How to Pick Up

The pantry runs a walk-through distribution model. On Mondays and Wednesdays, visitors can walk through to receive food from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. On the 2nd, 3rd, and last Saturday of each month, the pantry holds a drive-through "Walk Thru" event from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM where people can pick up food from their vehicle.

Additional Support

In addition to food distribution, the Basilica runs a Soup Kitchen serving hot meals on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12:15 PM to 1:30 PM. Meals are provided to the homeless, homeless veterans, and others in need.
