Who Can Visit?
The Bishop Dingman House is open to everyone as a drop-in center. Anyone who needs food, clothing, or other support is welcome to walk in during open hours. No registration is required.
Good to Know
Free grocery distribution takes place on Tuesdays and Fridays at 3 p.m. If you're coming specifically for groceries, make sure to visit on one of those days.
Food & Essentials
The house serves snacks and hot dinners during open hours. Canned goods and toiletries are also available on request. Free clothing and, when available, blankets can be picked up as well.
How to Pick Up
Walk in during open hours. Meals are served throughout the session, and free groceries are handed out on Tuesdays and Fridays at 3 p.m.
Additional Support
Showers are available during the first two hours the house is open each day. Guests can also use a phone on-site and receive mail at the house. Des Moines Catholic Worker also runs a free produce giveaway every Saturday at 10 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church at 8th and College (a separate location from the Dingman House).
