Who Can Visit?
This food pantry is open to anyone in need. There are no residency or income requirements, and the pantry welcomes all people regardless of race, religion, disability, age, or any other background. All visits are by appointment, so you'll need to schedule a time before picking up food.
How to Register?
There are two ways to set up an appointment:
- Walk into the thrift store at 500 Army Post Road on the day you'd like to visit. Staff can book a same-day appointment, subject to availability.
- Call (515) 282-8328 Ext. 230 to schedule a visit for the following day.
Hours are subject to change, so it's always worth calling ahead to confirm.
Good to Know
The food pantry runs through a partnership with Hunger Free Polk County, and past visitors have found an impressive range of items - including organic produce and specialty proteins - that may be more varied than you expect at a typical pantry. The selection changes with each visit based on what's available.
Food & Essentials
Visitors have found groceries including fresh organic fruits like avocados and mangoes, vegetables like asparagus, and specialty meats such as ahi tuna steaks and lamb chops. What's stocked changes from visit to visit.
Additional Support
This location also runs a free clothing closet for anyone who needs clothes for themselves or their family. Clothing visits are available Monday through Friday by appointment - call (515) 282-8328 Ext. 230 to schedule.
