Brookline Food Pantry (High St)
Who Can Visit?
The Brookline Food Pantry is open to anyone with a current Brookline address who needs food assistance. As of November 2021, all new clients must have a Brookline address.
Items Needed for Registration
If it's your first visit, bring a photo ID that shows your current Brookline address, or a piece of mail with your name and address on it. Once you've visited before, the pantry will issue you a Brookline Food Pantry ID card to use at check-in.
How Often You Can Visit?
Clients can shop at one of the pantry's locations once per week.
Good to Know
Each visit, you'll receive three bags of food: one bag of refrigerator and freezer items, one bag of fresh perishables like fruits and vegetables, and one bag of nonperishables like rice, cereals, and canned goods. Have your Brookline Food Pantry ID card ready when you arrive to make check-in faster.
Food & Essentials
The pantry provides a mix of refrigerated and frozen items, fresh produce including fruits and vegetables, and shelf-stable nonperishables such as rice, cereals, and canned goods.
How to Pick Up
When you arrive, line up in the designated area. At the front of the line, check-in volunteers will ask for your Brookline Food Pantry ID card. If it's your first time or you don't have a card yet, just tell the volunteers your name and address. You'll receive a pantry card on your next visit.
Additional Support
Home delivery is available as a temporary measure for Brookline residents who are disabled or at high risk due to age, an immune condition, or other related medical conditions. A referral from a local social service agency is helpful but not required. The pantry can't accommodate every delivery request, but will do its best based on the delivery schedule. To ask about delivery, reach out at brooklinefoodpantry@gmail.com or call 617-800-5339.
Ways to Give
You can make a monetary donation online at brooklinefoodpantry.networkforgood.com or by mailing a check to Brookline Food Pantry, PO Box 45, Brookline, MA 02446. The pantry also accepts donations of stocks and other securities.
Food donations can be dropped off at the United Parish location (15 Marion Street entrance) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Most-needed items include diapers (sizes 5, 6, and toddler pull-ups), toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, oil, sugar, flour, salt, snacks for kids, and grocery store gift cards ($25 cards to Trader Joe's, Stop & Shop, or Star Market work great). Please check all expiration dates before donating, as expired items can't be accepted.
