Who Can Visit?
The St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry at St. Therese Parish serves Platte County residents. They help anyone who lives in Platte County, regardless of faith, age, gender, or race.
Food pantry visits are by appointment only. There are no walk-ins. To make an appointment, call 816-741-8661 between 8:30 am and noon, Monday through Friday.

How Often You Can Visit?
Clients may visit the food pantry once every 30 days.
Good to Know
The amount of food you receive is based on your family size. Appointments are available Monday through Friday between 9:30 and 11:30 am. If you work during the day, evening appointments are also available from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month. The pantry is closed on holidays and on St. Therese School inclement weather days. Visitors share that they often leave with a large amount of food to help their family through hard times.
Food & Essentials
The pantry offers non-perishable food, healthy fresh produce, baked goods, dairy, meat, and personal hygiene items as available. The pantry sources food from several places. Some food comes free from Harvesters, and most is purchased from them at a reduced rate. Produce is purchased from Hy-Vee (Barry Road) and cleaning and hygiene supplies come from Giving The Basics. Meats are also purchased from Mies Wholesale Meat, and other items come from Sun Fresh Grocery, Walmart, Dollar General, and Dollar Tree. The pantry also receives free products from three area McDonald's locations, two Dollar Generals, Sprouts (64th Street), Hy-Vee (Barry Road), Red Lobster, Longhorn Steakhouse, Panera Bread, RayCam, and CVS.

Visits are by appointment only. Call 816-741-8661 to schedule your appointment. Appointments run Monday through Friday between 9:30 and 11:30 am, and evening appointments are available on the third Thursday of each month from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.
Additional Support
Beyond food, the pantry also provides emergency financial assistance, though this is limited in amount and frequency. Each December, the pantry organizes the Christmas Adopt-A-Family outreach, where parishioners volunteer to provide gifts for children in client households. The pantry also maintains a job board and referral services.

How to Join the Team?
The pantry is an all-volunteer ministry with over 150 volunteers doing a variety of tasks. Each day, 15 to 20 volunteers help with office work, grocery sacking, food running, grocery pick-up, truck unloading, shelf stocking, and more. If you would like to volunteer, call 816-741-8661.
