Who Can Visit?
Las Vegas Rescue Mission serves homeless and low-income men, women, and children in Las Vegas. The daily community meal is open to the public, and food services like food boxes are available to low-income families as well. You don't have to be staying at the shelter to come for meals.
Good to Know
Guests must line up at the west gate to get into the dining area for the community meal. The meal runs from 5pm to 6pm every day. Breakfast is also available Monday through Friday at 9am. Reviewers note that the food portions are good-sized and you may be able to get seconds if there's enough. The Mission also serves holiday meals on Good Friday, Thanksgiving Eve, and Christmas Eve that are open to the public.
Food & Essentials
The Mission provides a daily community dinner open to everyone as well as a breakfast on weekday mornings. Low-income families can receive food boxes that include items such as bulk frozen meat and fresh cheese, with enough food to nourish a family of 3 to 4 for at least 2 days. Free bread is also available daily until 12pm. If you need diapers or baby formula, you can contact the Mission directly for availability. Hygiene kits are provided upon request and include feminine products. Adult diapers are also available.
How to Pick Up
For the community meal, line up at the west gate before the 5pm to 6pm window. Food boxes for low-income families are distributed on-site. Past visitors mention a drive-through option was available for picking up government commodities.
Additional Support
The Mission offers a Lighthouse Recovery Program for people working to recover from addiction or rebuild their lives. They also provide a mailing address for people experiencing homelessness. The Mission has a full-time pastor on staff and offers daily Bible study classes and sessions for anyone seeking spiritual support.
Facilities
The Mission has an on-site thrift store stocked with a wide variety of second-hand items including furniture, clothing, and more. They also offer a pickup and delivery service for thrift donations if you need an appointment. Reviewers describe it as one of the best thrift stores around with a great variety of items.
