Who Can Visit?

This program is for seniors who need meals delivered right to their home. To qualify, you must:

  • Be age 60 or older
  • Be homebound because of an illness, a physical or thinking impairment, or because you live somewhere that's hard to get around
  • Live in Las Vegas or North Las Vegas year-round

The service is provided at no cost to the recipient. To get started, you'll need to fill out a referral form. You can call the program directly, or you can have a referral sent in from an outside source like a doctor's office or a social worker.

How to Register?

Call 702-385-5284 Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or have your doctor, social worker, or another healthcare provider send in a referral. You can also complete the application form on the Meals on Wheels program page at catholiccharities.com.

Good to Know

Each delivery brings a set of seven nutritionally balanced, frozen meals, so you'll have enough food for the whole week. Along with meals, drivers also make a weekly check-in at your home. If you have a pet, donated pet food can be delivered too when it's available and when you've let them know you need it. For many clients, the weekly visit from a driver is a meaningful connection with the outside world.

Food & Essentials

Every week, you'll receive seven frozen meals that are nutritionally balanced. One client shared: "It is really good and my health has improved since receiving Meals on Wheels. I feel happy when the delivery comes. I know I'm going to eat for a week."

How to Pick Up

You don't pick up anything. Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada delivery drivers bring the meals directly to your home each week. You'll need to be home to receive your delivery. If you miss a delivery, you may be placed on a waiting list before service can restart.

Ways to Give

Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada welcomes donations to help keep this program running. Here are some ways you can give:

94 cents of each dollar donated goes directly toward providing client services.

How to Join the Team?

Volunteers are welcome at Catholic Charities, though meal deliveries are handled by paid staff drivers, not volunteers. There are plenty of other ways to help, including working at the food pantry, serving meals in the community dining hall, or assembling kits from home.

To get started, create a free account on VolunteerHub to browse open service opportunities and sign up for a shift. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old for on-site roles. Current clients of Catholic Charities are not eligible to volunteer, but past clients are welcome to apply.

For questions, email volunteer@catholiccharities.com. Groups and companies can also arrange organized volunteer days by reaching out to the same email.
