Who Can Visit?

Hilliard Food Pantry Plus serves households living in seven zip codes: 43026, 43228, 43221, 43016, 43002, 43119, and 43204. Anyone in one of those zip codes is welcome to come in and shop.

Items Needed for Registration

Bring a photo ID and a recent utility bill or other proof of address with your name on it. Reusable shopping bags are also helpful to carry your items home. New visitors are assigned a keycard at check-in for easy look-up on future visits.

How Often You Can Visit?

Households may visit the pantry twice per month.

Good to Know

When you arrive, a parking greeter will take your cell phone number, sign you up, and hand you a puck. Keep the puck on your dashboard or in your hand. It will buzz when it's your turn to shop. Then head inside to the check-in station and return the puck. If you have mobility issues, let the staff know and they'll do their best to help. Reviewers describe the pantry as welcoming and non-judgmental, and many note that volunteers are friendly and happy to help first-time visitors.

Food & Essentials

The pantry is a choice pantry, meaning you pick your own items from the shelves. It offers a wide selection of fresh produce, dairy, meat, shelf-stable goods, baby items, and personal care products. Specific items that have been mentioned for donation include canned fruit, kid-friendly cereal, jam or jelly, canned chicken, canned tuna, boxed pasta, chunky soups, diapers in sizes 4, 5, and 6, feminine pads, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and toilet paper. The pantry also distributes books at the pantry through a library program.

How to Pick Up

This is a choice food pantry where you shop for your own items. After checking in and getting your puck buzzed, you walk through the pantry and select what you need from the available fresh produce, dairy, meat, and shelf-stable items. Volunteers and staff are there to greet you and help create a comfortable shopping experience.

Additional Support

The pantry offers several services beyond food:

  • Senior Box Delivery: Boxes of fresh produce, meat, shelf-stable food, and personal care products are delivered to residents at four senior living centers in the Hilliard area (Avondale, Horizons Apartments, Sturbridge Green Apartments, and Wellington Senior Village Apartments). Contact your apartment manager for a proxy form to sign up.
  • Utility Assistance: Families in the service zip codes can apply for help with gas, water, or electricity bills, up to $200 per year. Bring a copy of your shut-off notice and ID during regular service hours. The pantry does not pay utility bills to landlords.
  • Holiday Assistance: The pantry provides holiday-related food assistance. Visit hilliardfoodpantry.org for details.
