Sister BJ's Pantry
Who Can Visit?
Sister BJ's Pantry serves the homeless community as well as low-income families in downtown Oklahoma City. Anyone in need is welcome to come during open hours — no pre-registration is required.
Food & Essentials
The food bank gives out premade boxes of basic canned goods and non-perishable food items. On weekends, a hot breakfast is served — guests have described enjoying hot coffee, hotdogs, and sack lunches during their visits. The pantry also hands out around 400 cups of coffee every weekend. Clothing is available through the clothing ministry, and the pantry regularly requests donations of gently used men's jeans (sizes 30–34) for the people it serves.
How to Pick Up
You can walk in during open hours. Breakfast is served on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. The food bank is open on Saturdays from 7 to 9 am (closed the first Saturday of each month) and gives out premade boxes of basic canned and non-perishable items. Breakfast is also served at the Pantry Bus every Sunday at 7:15 am at City Care Night Shelter.
Additional Support
Sister BJ's Pantry offers several services beyond food:
- Clothing Ministry — clothing is available to guests in need
- Foot Clinic — basic foot care provided by Dr. Jim Flynn and volunteers on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month starting at 9 am
- Medical Clinic — medical support is available on-site
- Blessing Bags — pre-packed bags of personal essentials are given out regularly
Ways to Give
Donations are welcome and can be dropped off at the pantry on Saturdays from 7 to 9 am. The pantry is currently in need of:
- Men's new or gently used jeans (sizes 30–34)
- Folgers 100% Medium Roast Ground Colombian Coffee (40.3 oz cans) — the pantry uses about 6 cans per weekend

How to Join the Team?
Volunteers are always needed and welcome. There are lots of ways to help, including food preparation, rolling socks, sorting food and clothing, unloading deliveries, and working directly with guests. Fill out the volunteer form to get started. Groups, students, and kids can also get involved — see the volunteer page for more details on group and student opportunities.
