Who Can Visit?
The Food Basket Program is open to community members who need help with food. Anyone can come on Wednesday mornings to receive a food basket. There are no eligibility restrictions mentioned, and no pre-registration is required.
Good to Know
Each basket usually has enough food to provide meals for a family of four for three to four days. Food goes quickly, so Jesus House recommends arriving before 8:00 am. Some people are there as early as 7:00 am to secure their spot in line. Distribution starts at 8:00 am and continues until the food runs out.
You'll need to arrive in a vehicle to receive a basket.
Food & Essentials
Each food basket includes fresh produce, meat, and dairy products, with enough variety to cover several days' worth of meals for a family.
How to Pick Up
The Food Basket Program is a drive-up distribution. You stay in your vehicle and receive a pre-packed food basket. Come on Wednesday mornings, starting at 8:00 am, until supplies run out.
Additional Support
Jesus House also serves a free daily meal to anyone experiencing homelessness or hunger. Anyone who comes between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm can receive a meal — no questions asked.
Ways to Give
Jesus House welcomes donations of food, clothing, and money. Food donations help feed people through the kitchen and the food basket program. If you have a large donation of perishable food or need a pickup arranged, call ahead. Food from restaurants must be FDA labeled and time-stamped.
Gently used adult clothing in good condition is also accepted. Undergarments must arrive in unopened packaging. Items not accepted include children's or infant items, pet items, used undergarments, used sheets, used pillows, used rugs, used sofas, used mattresses, and large household or kitchen items.
For drop-off donations, schedule an appointment in advance by emailing donations@jesushouseokc.org. Drop-offs are accepted Monday through Saturday by appointment only at the Jesus House Warehouse at 1401 W. Sheridan, Oklahoma City, OK 73106.
To give money, you can donate online through PayPal or by credit card, by mail (send a check to P.O. Box 60369, Oklahoma City, OK 73146), or by phone at (405) 232-7164.
How to Join the Team?
Jesus House welcomes individual volunteers, groups, businesses, churches, and those completing court-ordered community service. Volunteer roles include donation sorting, kitchen and dining support, facility care, and education (such as literacy, GED classes, and mentoring).
To get started, submit a volunteer application on the Jesus House website, sign a liability waiver, and complete a background check. You'll need to provide your name, age, preferred volunteer position, and signature. Time commitment is flexible — you can volunteer for a day, weekly, or for specific events.
