Who Can Visit?
Our Giving Kitchen serves Pittsburgh neighbors who are facing food insecurity. Fresh, homemade meals are distributed through a discreet and dignified storefront at their Squirrel Hill location, as well as through a network of partner food banks, shelters, community centers, and places of worship across Greater Pittsburgh.
Food & Essentials
Every meal is prepared fresh from scratch using high-quality ingredients. Volunteers cook nutritious, homemade meals inspired by globally diverse recipes and themes. There are no canned goods or preservatives — just wholesome food made with care and delivered the same day it's prepared.
How to Pick Up
People can receive meals through the OGK storefront at 2621 Murray Ave in Pittsburgh's Squirrel Hill neighborhood. Meals are also delivered through OGK's partner organizations spread across Greater Pittsburgh, so you may also be able to receive food through a shelter, community center, or place of worship near you.
Ways to Give
OGK welcomes donations to help fund their weekly cooking sessions. You can join the Giving Circle starting at $50 a month, which helps cover ingredients for a family's fresh, homemade dinner. Higher monthly contributions fund cooking station supplies, individual meals, and full volunteer sessions producing 100 meals at a time. Donate at ogkpgh.com/donate or reach the team at (412) 867-9266 or bassie@ogkpgh.com.
How to Join the Team?
Our Giving Kitchen runs hands-on cooking sessions where volunteers of all backgrounds and skill levels are welcome — no cooking experience needed. You can join a community OGK Experience, book a private session for a corporate team, school group, or family, or get involved through special programs like Teen Tov for teens and OGK for Tots for families with young children. Explore opportunities and sign up at ogkpgh.com/volunteer or reach out at bassie@ogkpgh.com.
