Who Can Visit?

All programs are free and open to food insecure people living in Greater Hazelwood, Greenfield, and Glen-Hazel.

The walk-in grab-and-go lunch is open to anyone from Greater Hazelwood or the City of Pittsburgh with no registration needed.

The monthly food pantry distribution is for pre-registered community members. To get registered, reach out to the team at 412-499-4313 or flcm5000@gmail.com.

For the Senior Food Box program, you'll need to bring proof of ID and proof of income to qualify.

How Often You Can Visit?

The monthly food pantry distribution is held on the first Saturday of each month. The grab-and-go lunch is available every weekday, Monday through Friday.

Good to Know

There's a free "Food for Everyone" refrigerator at 131 E. Elizabeth St. that's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year long. No registration or appointment is needed to use it.

Food & Essentials

The monthly distribution offers free groceries, including fresh local produce. Emergency food boxes contain a mix of perishable and non-perishable food items from their current supply. The daily grab-and-go lunch is a home-cooked meal. The Senior Food Box program delivers healthy USDA commodities to seniors facing economic hardship. Meals on Wheels clients receive a bagged lunch and microwaveable dinner every weekday.

How to Pick Up

The grab-and-go lunch is available for pickup Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 131 E. Elizabeth St., Pittsburgh, PA 15207. No registration is needed.

The monthly food pantry distribution takes place on the first Saturday of each month from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Spartan Center, 134 E. Elizabeth St., Pittsburgh, PA 15207.

For emergency food boxes, call 412-414-3125 or email flcm5000@gmail.com to schedule a pickup or delivery. Pickup is available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Additional Support

Meals on Wheels delivers a bagged lunch and microwaveable dinner every weekday to seniors, food insecure, and homebound residents of Hazelwood, Glenwood, The Run, Glen-Hazel, and part of Greenfield. Call 412-499-4313 to sign up. Deliveries happen Monday through Friday between 9:30 and 11:00 a.m.

Grocery shopping service: If you're unable to get to a supermarket, the team will shop for you. You only pay for your groceries, and the service itself is free. They accept SNAP/EBT, credit, and debit. Call 412-414-3125 with at least 48 hours' notice.

Ways to Give

You can donate online through PayPal or with a debit or credit card at website. To send a check, mail it to Fishes and Loaves Cooperative Ministries, 5115 Second Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15207, made out to "Fishes & Loaves Cooperative Ministries." The organization also accepts gifts in kind, including food, kitchen equipment, and office supplies. Call 412-499-4313 to arrange an in-kind donation.

How to Join the Team?

Volunteering takes three steps. First, reach out through the contact form on the website or call 412-499-4313. Second, meet with the volunteer coordinator for an orientation. Third, submit your child abuse clearances. Instructions for getting clearances for free are available at website.

Open volunteer roles include food preparation assistant (Monday through Friday, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.) and meal delivery driver (Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 10:30 a.m.).
