Community Assistance Center
Who Can Visit?
Community Assistance Center's Client Choice Food Pantry is open to neighbors in need at no cost. An appointment is required to receive food assistance. You can request one through the online Appointment Request Form, or you can make one in person with an intake specialist at the center. Walk-ins may be seen on a space-available basis after scheduled clients.
How to Register?
- Submit the Appointment Request Form online, or visit the center and ask to schedule with an intake specialist.
- Wait for a response — the center reaches out as soon as they can, but high demand may slow things down.
- Come to your appointment with all required documents.
Items Needed for Registration
All services at CAC require documentation, and missing paperwork can delay or prevent assistance. Visitors have mentioned bringing the following to their food pantry appointments:
- Photo ID for every household member age 18 and older
- Social Security documents for every household member
- Proof of household income for the last 30 days
- Proof of address such as a lease agreement or utility bill
Double-check that you have everything before you arrive.
How Often You Can Visit?
Visitors report that the pantry provides food assistance once per month per household.
Good to Know
The food is fresh and good quality — visitors have noted it's not expired or moldy like at some other places. The facility is kept very clean. A family of four has described receiving a decent amount. Because demand is high, the center asks that you submit the appointment form only once and be patient while you wait to hear back.
Food & Essentials
The pantry provides fresh produce, a variety of proteins, and shelf-stable goods at no cost. Specific items you may find include soup, fruit, vegetables, canned meats, canned beans, pasta sauce, rice, pasta, peanut butter, jelly and spreads, macaroni and cheese, hot and cold cereals, hamburger helper, and dry beans. Baby care items, personal hygiene products, and cleaning supplies are also distributed when available.
How to Pick Up
CAC uses a client-choice model designed to feel like shopping in a small grocery store. When you arrive for your appointment, a volunteer or staff member walks with you as you browse and fill your own grocery cart. You pick what fits your family's needs, preferences, and any special dietary requirements. This setup is intended to give you control and dignity in the process.
