Sacred Heart Catholic Church St. Vincent de Paul
Who Can Visit?
The St. Vincent de Paul food pantry at Sacred Heart Catholic Church is open to anyone in need. No appointment is required to receive groceries through the weekly drive-thru distribution.
For financial assistance with rent, utilities, or prescription medications, you must call (936) 539-1188 to make a request. Phones are answered Monday through Thursday, 10 am to 2 pm.
Good to Know
Food is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and may run out before noon, so arriving early gives you the best chance of receiving food. When Conroe ISD schools close for inclement weather, the pantry will also be closed.
Food & Essentials
The pantry distributes bags of groceries to households. Food is sourced from Kroger and Panera, which can include a mix of grocery staples and bakery items.
How to Pick Up
Food is given out through a drive-thru every Wednesday from 9 am to 12 noon (or until supplies run out). Pull up in your car at 145 Madeley St, Conroe, TX 77301 and volunteers will load your bags directly into your vehicle.
Additional Support
Beyond food, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at Sacred Heart offers several forms of help:
- Financial assistance for rent, utilities, and prescription medications. Call (936) 539-1188 to request help.
- Hot meals prepared and served every Wednesday at the Salvation Army.
- Home visits for neighbors in need in the Conroe area.
For general questions about financial assistance, email info@svdpconroe.org. For all other questions, email president@svdpconroe.org.
Facilities
A Clothes Closet is available at the same location, open Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm. Visitors can come in to find clothing they need.
Ways to Give
Donations of money, food, and clothing all help provide for neighbors in the Conroe area.
- Donate money online at PushPay, or through the weekly second collection for St. Vincent de Paul at Sacred Heart.
- Donate food or clothing: Clothing donations are accepted by appointment only. Call (936) 539-1188 to schedule a drop-off. Please don't leave items on the front porch, as anything left there will be discarded.
How to Join the Team?
Volunteers are the heart of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. There are many ways to help, including preparing grocery bags on Tuesdays, unloading and sorting food on Wednesday mornings, serving at the drive-thru, picking up food from Kroger and Panera, answering phones, interviewing clients for assistance, and sorting clothing. Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
To get started, email Jackie Ley at president@svdpconroe.org or call (936) 539-1188. You'll go through a CMG (Safe Haven) background check and training before starting. Phones are answered Monday through Thursday, 10 am to 2 pm.
