Who Can Visit?

Metropolitan Dream Center (MDC) is a faith-based nonprofit that serves less fortunate people in the Dallas and Fort Worth area. If you and your family are struggling with food, clothing, or other basic needs, you're welcome to come by. The center is open to people going through a crisis in their lives, including those dealing with hunger, poverty, or homelessness. You can also attend one of their monthly events to receive help.

Good to Know

Reviewers say the food is fresh and the staff are kind, helpful, and quick. You won't have to wait long. The food pantry runs every two weeks, so it's a good idea to check when the next distribution is before making the trip. The team also says don't feel ashamed if you need help — over 40 million Americans face hunger or poverty, and MDC is here without judgment.

Food & Essentials

MDC partners with several food distributors to provide fresh, wholesome foods. Past visitors mention receiving fresh vegetables, oats, beans, canned goods, and staple items, along with something for your sweet tooth. The center also has clothing available, including ladies', children's, and menswear sections where clients can shop free of charge. Bedding and personal hygiene items are also available from time to time.

How to Pick Up

You can walk in during open hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at 4650 S Hampton Rd, Suite 97, Dallas, TX 75232. Volunteers are on hand to help you and make the process easy and welcoming. If you have an emergency and can't wait for regular hours, call the office at 469-206-0226 and leave a message.

Additional Support

MDC offers more than just food. Volunteers are ready to listen, talk with you, and pray with you if you need someone to speak to. The center can also share resource information to help you find medical care, shelter leads in the DFW area, and referrals to counseling (spiritual or otherwise). At special events like the annual Harvest Fest, healthcare providers attend and offer services such as health screenings and tests. MDC also provides referrals to treatment programs for those dealing with addiction.

Facilities

Clients are welcome to shop the ladies', children's, and menswear clothing areas free of charge. Bedding and personal items are also available from time to time.
