Who Can Visit?

Don't Forget to Feed Me (DF2FM) is a pet food bank based in Fort Worth, Texas. It doesn't distribute pet food directly to individuals. Instead, it supplies pet food to a network of local distribution partner agencies — like food pantries and Meals on Wheels programs — who then pass it along to their clients. If you need pet food, you'll need to visit one of DF2FM's distribution partners.

You can find the full list of partner locations on the DF2FM Get Help page, or download the Where to Get Pet Food PDF. Partners are located across Tarrant, Denton, Johnson, and Ellis Counties. Each partner has its own eligibility requirements and distribution schedule, so it's best to contact the one closest to you before visiting.

Food & Essentials

DF2FM provides dry and canned dog and cat food at no cost through its distribution partners. It can't guarantee any specific brand or type, and it doesn't carry prescription diets. Pet food through DF2FM is meant to help keep pets in their homes during hard times — it's not available for strays, fosters, or feral colonies.

Additional Support

DF2FM runs two special programs for people with extra needs:

Home, Not Alone helps senior citizens keep their companion animals by providing free pet food through partnerships with local senior centers and residences across North Texas.

The Maverick Fund is a designated fund for individual pet-owning households who have experienced catastrophic events — like house fires or tornado damage — that left them without the resources to care for their pets. DF2FM works with the American Red Cross North Texas Region to identify and support qualifying pet owners.

Ways to Give

DF2FM welcomes both monetary donations and pet food donations.

Pet food donations: DF2FM accepts dry and canned dog and cat food (any brand, including recently expired), as well as gallon-size double zipper bags. It cannot accept opened bags outside the original container, refrigerated or frozen products, medications, or miscellaneous pet supplies. You can donate online through wish lists on Amazon, Chewy, Cuddly, Target, and Walmart. To donate in person, use the Donation Location Map or the Donation Locations PDF to find a drop-off site near you.

Monetary donations: You can give online at the DF2FM donation page, donate stock, or mail a check. DF2FM is a fully tax-deductible 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 27-4230499). You can also designate your gift to the Home, Not Alone or Maverick Fund programs.

Contact: 817-334-0727 or PO Box 471277, Fort Worth, TX 76147.

How to Join the Team?

Volunteers are welcome to help in several ways: bagging pet food in the warehouse, picking up donations from local drop-off sites, working community events, helping in the office, or organizing pet food drives at schools, churches, or scout groups.

To get started, complete the DF2FM Volunteer Application and send it to operations@dontforgettofeedme.org. You'll also need to review the Volunteer Orientation and the Volunteer Handbook. Depending on your volunteer role, a background check may also be required.

Groups of 5 or more must submit a group request form instead of the individual application. Volunteers under 18 should visit the Youth Involvement page for more information.
