Who Can Visit?

4Saints & Friends serves individuals and families without consideration of race, color, gender, age, religion, national origin, disability, political affiliation, or legal status. To receive food, you'll need to meet one of these five qualifiers set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture:

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
  • Social Security Income/Disability (SSI)
  • National School Lunch Program (NSLP)
  • Medicaid Insurance

People facing a food emergency are also welcome, even if they don't meet the income guidelines. Eligibility is not determined by zip code, so you don't have to live in the immediate area.

No appointments are needed to visit the Friday Food Pantry. Client registration begins around 10 a.m. on Fridays.

Items Needed for Registration

Bring a photo ID with your current address when you visit for the first time. You'll fill out about one page of paperwork required by the USDA and Texas Department of Agriculture. Staff are available to help people with literacy challenges or language barriers. After registering, you'll receive a 4Saints Pantry card to bring on future visits.

How Often You Can Visit?

Families may visit the Friday Food Pantry once per month. You can also attend the 4th Saturday Mobile Pantry distribution in addition to your monthly Friday visit. Registered seniors may also pick up their Senior Box on the first Wednesday of each month.

Good to Know

When you arrive on a Friday, you'll be greeted and given a number, then directed to the registration desk. When your number is called, a volunteer will escort you through the pantry to help you shop. Reviews mention the wait can be long, but visitors say the quality and quantity of food make it worth it. The food is not expired, and the staff treat everyone with respect and kindness. Each client may only shop for their own household.

Food & Essentials

On most Fridays, clients receive one gallon of milk, one dozen eggs, a choice of meat or protein, canned goods, and bread. When available, the pantry also offers a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, baby diapers, adult diapers, wipes, and pet food. Community partnerships make it possible to include personal care items as well.

The 4th Saturday Mobile Pantry, hosted in partnership with Tarrant Area Food Bank, often includes fresh produce, canned goods, milk, rice or noodles, and other items. The inventory varies based on what TAFB has available.

Seniors enrolled in the program receive boxes with fruits and vegetables, cheese, juice, and other nutritious items through the USDA Commodity Supplemental Food Program.

How to Pick Up

4Saints & Friends is a client-choice pantry, meaning you get to select the items you want. A volunteer shopper accompanies you with a cart as you make your selections, encouraging you to try a variety of healthy foods and fresh produce.

Additional Support

4Saints occasionally has representatives on hand to help clients check eligibility for SNAP, TANF, SSI, the National School Lunch Program, and Medicaid.

The pantry also offers a free "Cooking Matters for Families" program a few times a year in partnership with Tarrant Area Food Bank. This six-week class series brings children ages 8 and older and their families together to learn about healthy food choices, meal planning, and cooking skills. A recipe book in English or Spanish is provided to each student.

There is also a "Food for All" appointment-based, private food distribution for community members who face barriers to attending regular events, such as disabilities, transportation challenges, or other concerns. Appointments can be scheduled at 4saintsfood.simplybook.me.

Ways to Give

4Saints & Friends Episcopal Food Pantry is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization. You can make a secure online donation at 4saintsfood.org/donate. The pantry also accepts tribute donations to honor or remember a special person.

For planned giving, you can donate appreciated stocks, bonds, or other securities, or include 4Saints & Friends in your will or estate plan. To mail a check, send it to P.O. Box 8695, Fort Worth, TX 76124-0695. You can also call (817) 609-4122 for more information.

How to Join the Team?

Volunteers are welcome and no prior registration is required for the Friday pantry or the 4th Saturday Mobile Pantry. Just show up ready to help. Volunteers help with stocking shelves, shopping with clients, loading groceries into cars, registering clients, directing traffic, and setting up or tearing down the distribution area. Spanish speakers are especially needed at the Saturday event.

For the first Wednesday Senior Box distribution, volunteers are needed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can view the volunteer calendar and sign up at 4saintsfood.org/get-involved.
