Who Can Visit?

The Bethlehem Center pantry is open to anyone in need. No appointment is required — you can walk in during open hours.

Items Needed for Registration

To pick up groceries, bring a photo ID and proof of residency (such as a utility bill or lease agreement) for anyone over 18 in your household. Bring identification for any children in your family, such as a birth certificate, school ID, or medical card. A letter of government assistance can count as both proof of residency and children's identification.

How to Pick Up

Groceries are handed out on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies run out each day. You can call the center before coming to check if food is still available: 817.332.7911.

Good to Know

It's a good idea to call ahead to make sure food is still available before you come, since supplies can run out before the end of the day. Reviewers describe the pantry as having "a lot of good stuff" and note the staff and volunteers as welcoming and accommodating.

Food & Essentials

The pantry distributes a variety of fresh and shelf-stable groceries. Items mentioned by visitors include fish, chicken, fajita meat, milk, vegetables, eggs, and bread. The pantry provides approximately 27,000 pounds of food each month across UCC's three centers, serving around 1,200 families and senior citizens.

Additional Support

The Bethlehem Center hosts family resource events and can connect you with community partners. Past services have included free health screenings, free tax preparation for low-income families, referrals for emergency assistance, GED preparation, resume writing, computer skills training, financial literacy workshops, and ESL courses. Distribution of school supplies and uniforms has also been offered.

Each Thanksgiving, UCC provides holiday food baskets for families who would otherwise be unable to celebrate the holiday.

Sack lunches are also available, including for people experiencing homelessness.

Facilities

The Bethlehem Center has a clothing room where families can pick up clean, gently-used clothes for everyone in the family, plus small household items. The clothing room is open during the same hours as the food pantry.

Ways to Give

You can make a financial donation online at the UCC donations page or mail a check to:

United Community Centers, Inc. P.O. Box 50906 Fort Worth, TX 76105

To donate in-kind items, call 817.927.5556. Regular needs include commercial kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies, Kleenex, napkins, utensils, plates, and toilet paper. During the Thanksgiving season, UCC also collects items for holiday family baskets, including canned goods (cranberry sauce, corn, green beans, yams, fruit cocktail), stuffing mix, cake mix, frosting, tea bags, and gift cards.

How to Join the Team?

UCC welcomes weekday volunteers at all three centers for a variety of tasks, including kitchen and food pantry help, clothing room organization, and classroom material prep. Visit the Bethlehem Center volunteer calendar to see current needs and sign up.
