Good to Know
Reviewers say they give quite a bit of food, so it helps to bring a car if possible. The pantry is run mostly by volunteers, so be prepared to wait a little while your cart is filled and you're helped out.
Food & Essentials
CCA offers a variety of healthy food sourced through its partnership with the Tarrant Area Food Bank. Visitors can shop and choose their own items. The pantry also distributes small household items, clothing for men, women, and children (infant through adult sizes), and is especially in need of new, unopened packages of socks and underwear.
How to Pick Up
CCA operates as a client-choice pantry, meaning visitors shop and pick out the food they want themselves. A volunteer fills your cart and helps carry it outside.
Additional Support
Reviewers mention that bus passes have been available at times. The pantry has also assisted clients with rental help. Call ahead to ask what's currently available.
Facilities
CCA has a clothing closet where you can pick out clothing and various items. Small household goods, children's toys, and decorative items are also available.
Ways to Give
CCA welcomes food and clothing donations as well as financial gifts. Drop off donations in person on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays between 9am and 1pm at 1903 W. Bowie St., Fort Worth, TX 76110. Clothing accepted includes gently used items from infant through adult sizes; new, unopened socks and underwear are always especially needed. You can also give online through the donation page. For questions, email ccadirector@att.net.
How to Join the Team?
CCA is always looking for volunteers to help in its clothing and food ministries. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least two four-hour shifts per month. To get started, complete and submit the volunteer form at ccaftworth.org/volunteer or call 1-817-921-9622 to schedule a first visit that includes a tour. Note that at this time CCA is not able to accommodate groups or community service obligations of less than 12 hours.
