Central Bible Church - Storehouse
Who Can Visit?
Central Storehouse is a no-barrier food pantry, which means everyone who is hungry is welcome. There are no income checks, residency requirements, or eligibility restrictions. All who need food can come.
On your first visit, you'll fill out a short form with basic details like your name, address, phone number, email, and how many people are in your household.
How Often You Can Visit?
Visitors are welcome to return every two weeks.
Good to Know
Appointments are made in person on your first visit, so you can walk in without one the first time. After that, having an appointment helps you skip the wait. If you have your own shopping bags, bring them along. The pantry also offers free drinks and snacks in the waiting area, so you won't go hungry while you wait. Staff includes Spanish-speaking volunteers for neighbors who speak Spanish.
Food & Essentials
Central Storehouse stocks a wide variety of groceries. Visitors have received items like eggs, bread, coffee creamer, soups, crackers, canned meats, meat, and snacks. The pantry focuses on providing healthy food, favoring low-trans-fat, low-sodium, and low-sugar options. The food drive guide lists suggested donation items that reflect what the pantry distributes: rice, pasta and pasta sauce, tuna, canned chicken and salmon, soups and stews, dry beans, fruit cups and applesauce, peanut butter, jelly, cereal and oatmeal, raw nuts, dried fruits, trail mix, and crackers.
How to Pick Up
Central Storehouse is a client-choice pantry, meaning you shop like you're at a grocery store. A volunteer walks you through each section and lets you choose the items you want. When you're done, a volunteer loads your food into your car.
Additional Support
The Storehouse Students program delivers 5 to 6 pound bags of food to more than 450 students from 8 schools in the east Fort Worth area on a weekly basis. Bags include shelf-stable single-serving items such as fruit cups, protein snacks like tuna and food bars, fresh fruit, and drinks.
Volunteers also offer prayer to anyone who would like it. Prayer is offered and never forced.
Ways to Give
Donations of shelf-stable food are welcome. The pantry prefers low-trans-fat, low-sodium, and low-sugar items that are non-expired and within their best-by date. Food drop-offs can be arranged Monday through Thursday from 8:30am to 12:00pm, or the Central Storehouse operations team can arrange a pickup. To set up a donation drop-off or ask about hosting a food drive, email info@central-storehouse.org. Monetary donations can be made at their donation page.
How to Join the Team?
Volunteers must be 16 years or older to serve without a parent or guardian. To get started, fill out the volunteer interest form on the Central Storehouse website. After submitting the form, staff will reach out to schedule a visit, give you a tour of the ministry, and walk you through training.
