Who Can Visit?
Midwest Food Bank Texas Division does not distribute food directly to individuals. Instead, it works as a food bank that supplies donated food free of charge to a network of nonprofit partners across Texas, including pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and community kitchens. Those partner organizations then serve individuals and families in their communities.
If you or your family need food help, call 211 or visit 211.org to find a local partner pantry near you.
How Hunger Relief Works
The Texas Division receives food from donors, growers, and corporate partners, then sorts and organizes it at their Haltom City warehouse. That food is then shared at no cost through a network of more than 85 nonprofit partners across Texas. Every $1 donated is turned into $30 in food through this model.
Food & Essentials
The food bank distributes both shelf-stable and perishable products. Midwest Food Bank also produces Hope Packs for children, which include a warm meal (like mac and cheese or ravioli), a breakfast item, fruit, a granola bar, and a snack. They also package Tender Mercies, a rice-and-beans mix developed by dietitians that's fortified with protein, vitamins, and minerals.
