Who Can Visit?

N.E.E.D. (North East Emergency Distribution) serves families and individuals within 13 Northeast Tarrant County zip codes. There's no formal application process, so you can come in when you need help. The pantry is faith-based and open to the community.

How Often You Can Visit?

You can receive food assistance up to two times per year.

Good to Know

Visitors typically receive a sizeable cart of food. If you don't have a car or can only carry what fits in a backpack, staff can give you a day bag instead. You can also call ahead to make sure they're able to help with what you need.

Food & Essentials

The pantry provides a good variety of groceries, including meat, bread, and other staple foods. Visitors also receive diapers and baby formula when available. Reviewers note that the food given is enough to last about two weeks.

How to Pick Up

Staff pack groceries for you to take home. You'll receive a cart of items based on your household's needs.

Additional Support

N.E.E.D. offers several services beyond food:

  • TXU electric bill help: They can pay your TXU electric bill once a year.
  • Bus vouchers: Transportation assistance is available in some cases.
  • Clothing: Clothing is available, and visitors can receive clothes monthly. Work-appropriate clothing is provided to help people who are job hunting.
  • SNAP help: Staff can help you fill out a food stamp application.
  • Referrals: They make referrals to other social service agencies.
  • Senior services: Supplemental services are available for seniors.

Facilities

There's a children's waiting area at the location. Toy donations are also accepted.

Ways to Give

N.E.E.D. accepts food donations and monetary gifts. To make a check donation, write it out to North East Emergency Distribution and mail it to PO Box 1376, Hurst, TX 76053. You can also donate online at website. To host a food drive, email kaminski.pbj@gmail.com.

How to Join the Team?

Volunteers are warmly welcomed. You can fill out the volunteer interest form at needdfw.org/volunteer or download the paper volunteer application from the same page. The form asks for your name, email, phone, interests, and any notes you'd like to share.
