Who Can Visit?
Community Enrichment Center serves residents in NE Tarrant County. Visitors who live within certain zip codes can receive food assistance. If you're not sure whether you qualify, it's best to call (817) 281-1164 or stop by during pantry hours.
How Often You Can Visit?
Households can visit once a month to receive food.
Good to Know
The pantry gives out generous amounts of food. Reviewers say a visit for two people can yield enough to feed around ten. Lines can get long, so arriving early is a good idea. Be sure to check expiration dates on items before you leave.
Food & Essentials
The pantry offers a wide variety of food, including fresh produce, bread, bakery items, frozen meat, and both canned and shelf-stable goods. Reviewers mention that the pantry sometimes stocks organic produce. There's usually a good mix of items, and visitors often receive a full cart of groceries. On occasion, personal care items like maxi pads and adult diapers may also be available while supplies last.
How to Pick Up
All visitors enter through the Welcome Center, where staff will direct you. You'll receive a pre-loaded cart of food. If you don't need or can't use something in your cart, you can return it so it doesn't go to waste.
Additional Support
The CEC offers a range of services beyond food:
- SNAP and Benefits Help: A representative from the Tarrant Area Food Bank is available every Wednesday during pantry hours, by appointment, to help you apply for SNAP (food stamps), TANF, Medicaid, CHIP, and Healthy Texas Women coverage. To schedule, stop by during regular hours.
- Financial and Housing Help: Benefits Specialists can connect you with financial coaching, housing resources, and referrals to outside dental, medical, counseling, and housing services.
- Tax Preparation: Free tax preparation services are available by appointment (bring your filled-out, signed documents).
- Classes and Education: The CEC offers GED classes, life skills courses, and job search resources, including a computer lab.
- Emergency Assistance: Case-by-case help with rent and utilities may be available when funding allows.
- Senior and Disability Support: A monthly food distribution is available for seniors and people with disabilities who qualify.
- Child and School Support: The RefreshBISD back-to-school event provides backpacks and school supplies to families in need within the Birdville school district.

The CEC has a computer lab available for job searching. A thrift store called Second Glance is also affiliated with the organization (not located at this site) and offers clothing and other items.
