Who Can Visit?

Anyone in the community is welcome to visit the Wesley Center food pantry. There's no income test or residency requirement mentioned beyond bringing standard identification documents. Groceries are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis each day until supplies run out.

Items Needed for Registration

Please bring a photo ID and proof of residency (such as a utility bill or lease agreement) for any adult 18 or older in your household, along with identification for any children, such as a birth certificate, school ID, or medical card. A letter of government assistance can serve as both proof of residency and children's identification.

How to Pick Up

The center pantry operates as a walk-in distribution. Show up during open hours and groceries are handed out on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies run out for the day. You can call the center at (817) 625-8205 before coming to check whether food is still available.

Good to Know

Because food is distributed until supplies run out each day, arriving earlier in the session gives you the best chance of getting food. The center is closed on Mondays, so plan your visit for Tuesday through Friday.

Food & Essentials

The Wesley Center provides weekly groceries to families and senior citizens as part of UCC's network, which distributes approximately 27,000 pounds of food to an average of 1,200 families and seniors per month across its three neighborhood centers. In addition to the regular pantry, the center also hosts a once-a-month mobile food pantry where each household receives approximately 60 pounds of fresh produce and dairy products, delivered by a refrigerated 18-wheeler stocked with 18,000 to 20,000 pounds of fresh and frozen food.

The center also offers a clothing room where families can pick up clean, gently-used clothes for everyone in the household, plus small household items.

Additional Support

The Wesley Center hosts a monthly mobile food pantry on the last Saturday of each month from 8 to 10 a.m. (with the exception of summer). A refrigerated 18-wheeler delivers 18,000 to 20,000 pounds of fresh produce and frozen grocery products for distribution to approximately 400 households. Visit https://www.unitedcommunitycenters.org/mobilefoodpantry for the volunteer sign-up calendar, which also lists upcoming pantry dates.

The center and its partner sites also host family resource events including free health screenings, distribution of school supplies and uniforms, free tax preparation for low-income families, referrals for emergency assistance, GED preparation, resume writing, computer skills training, financial literacy workshops, and ESL courses.

Facilities

Wesley Center has a clothing room where families can pick up clean, gently-used clothing for every member of the household, as well as small household items. This room is open during the same hours as the food pantry.
