CEC Sidewalk Saturday - Food Distribution Center
Who Can Visit?
Sidewalk Saturday is open to anyone who needs help. There's no registration or appointment required, so you can simply show up on Saturday morning at the Outreach Pavilion.
Good to Know
Lines tend to form before the 8:30 a.m. start time, so it's a good idea to arrive early. When you get there, line up and you'll receive a number for the distribution. While you wait, volunteers often hand out breakfast tacos, coffee, and milk. The line moves quickly once distribution begins.
Food & Essentials
The food pantry is stocked with products from the San Antonio Food Bank and Daily Bread Ministries, along with donations from church members. Food is packed into bags and typically includes items like meat, milk, and water. Clothing and household items collected from the congregation are also given out each Saturday. Dog food is sometimes available too.
How to Pick Up
Food is distributed in pre-packed bags at the Outreach Pavilion. When you arrive, line up and get your number. Volunteers are friendly and keep things moving at a good pace throughout the morning.
Additional Support
Sidewalk Saturday starts with an outdoor worship service at 8:30 a.m. on the Outreach Pavilion lawn, and volunteers are on hand for individual prayer throughout the morning. Staff can also connect you with referrals to other community resources as needed. The church periodically hosts blood drives and offers flu and COVID vaccinations for Sidewalk Saturday clients.
Ways to Give
The pantry relies on donations of food, clothing, and household goods from the congregation and community. You can give online through the church's giving page, or call the church at (210) 736-3132 to find out how to donate.
How to Join the Team?
To volunteer with Sidewalk Saturday, contact Shannon Murphy, Director of Outreach, or the Rev. Justin Lindstrom, Outreach Liaison, by calling the church at (210) 736-3132.
