Who Can Visit?

Everyone is welcome at CAM's downtown campus - no appointment needed and there are no eligibility restrictions. Services are first come, first served. To receive groceries, you'll need to bring a photo ID and proof of residency, such as a utility bill or any piece of mail with your address on it. People experiencing homelessness can also come for sack lunches, showers, and other services without needing proof of residence.

Items Needed for Registration

To receive groceries, bring:

  • A photo ID
  • Proof of residency (a bill or piece of mail with your current address)

For financial assistance with utilities or prescriptions, CAM has applications available in English and Spanish on their CAM Services page that you can download, fill out ahead of time, and bring along with your ID.

How Often You Can Visit?

You can receive groceries once every 60 days.

Good to Know

No appointment is needed - just walk in during open hours. Services run Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Because CAM serves a high volume of people each day, it's a good idea to arrive right when they open at 9:30 a.m. The amount of food you receive depends on your family size and what's in stock at the time of your visit.

Food & Essentials

CAM's food pantry serves individuals and families with proof of residence. Reviewers have described receiving canned goods, bread, pasta, and fish. Sack lunches with shelf-stable items are also handed out to the unsheltered community Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

How to Pick Up

When you arrive, check in at the front desk for an intake interview. A staff member or volunteer will go over your needs with you before providing services. It's first come, first served - no appointment is required.

Additional Support

CAM offers a wide range of services beyond groceries:

  • Clothing: Clothing is available at the downtown campus, including outfits, a jacket, shoes, bedding, linens, undergarments, and hygiene supplies.
  • Hygiene kits: Distributed during shower hours and once a month alongside clothing for unsheltered clients.
  • Financial assistance: Help is available with utility bills (once every 12 months, requires a disconnect notice) and prescription medications (up to $80 per year).
  • ID and birth certificate recovery: CAM can help cover the cost of a Texas ID or birth certificate - one per person per year. Available Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Mail service: For people without a stable address, CAM offers a free mailing address for receiving legal documents and other mail. Available Monday through Thursday at 9:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m., and Friday at 9:00 a.m.
  • Bus passes: Available for people who are newly employed to help get to work or medical appointments.
  • CAMpassion Care: A mental health program launched in 2025 for chronically homeless individuals. A psychiatric nurse practitioner visits campus twice a week to provide diagnosis, treatment, and medication for people who wouldn't otherwise have access to care.

Facilities

Showers are available on-site for the unsheltered community:

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Ways to Give

CAM welcomes financial and in-kind donations:

  • Food donations: Items must be sealed, new, sorted, and labeled.
  • Clothing donations: Items must be clean, in good repair, labeled, and sorted.
  • Donation drop-off: Drive to the CAMpassion Warehouse at the downtown campus. Drop-off hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Someone will come out to assist you.
