Who Can Visit?

Chapel Hill's food pantry is free and open to anyone in need. No appointment or pre-registration is required. Just come on a Tuesday morning and bring a valid Texas photo ID. An intake coordinator will help you fill out a short registration when you arrive.

Items Needed for Registration

Bring a valid Texas photo ID. You'll also need transportation to take the food home, and you'll be asked to verbally confirm your household income.

How Often You Can Visit?

Each family can visit once every 30 days.

Good to Know

The pantry serves the first 75 families each Tuesday, so arriving early helps. If you can't come yourself, a proxy can pick up your food for you. They'll need to bring your Texas photo ID and a signed, dated permission note from you each time they pick up. The pantry doesn't provide pet food, hygiene items, feminine products, diapers, or baby food. It's also closed the week of New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Food & Essentials

The pantry provides meat, fresh produce, bread, cereal, eggs, milk, and canned goods. Availability depends on what the San Antonio Food Bank supplies each week, so not every item is guaranteed at every visit.

How to Pick Up

When you arrive, line up at the side entrance on Evandale. Doors open at 8:30 AM for registration, where an intake coordinator helps with paperwork and gives you a number. After a short wait, a volunteer will finish your registration. If you're eligible, you'll drive around to the front of the church, where volunteers load a cart full of food directly into your trunk.

Ways to Give

You can donate in person at 4114 SW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78227. Online donations are accepted through the church's donation page. You can also reach the church by email at chapelhill410@att.net.

How to Join the Team?

The pantry always needs volunteers throughout the week. To get involved, text or call (210) 868-3236. They make every effort to respond within 48 business hours. If you call on Tuesday during pantry hours, it may take a bit longer to hear back since the team is busy serving families.
