Who Can Visit?

Inner City Development's emergency food pantry is open to families in crisis. There's no pre-registration needed — just walk in during pantry hours. People experiencing homelessness are also welcome to stop by for a free sack lunch each weekday morning.

How Often You Can Visit?

Families can use the food pantry up to two times per year.

Good to Know

This is an emergency pantry designed to help families get through a tough stretch. Each visit provides a few days' worth of groceries to bridge you through a crisis.

Food & Essentials

The pantry distributes grocery bags stocked with basic food items. Items the pantry regularly provides or needs include eggs, milk (powdered, boxed, or fresh quarts), oranges, apples, and packaged snacks like cookies or chips. Sack lunches are also prepared each morning for people experiencing homelessness.

Emergency clothing is available on Mondays from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. for adults in need, including clothing, undergarments, socks, and shoes. School children who have a referral from a teacher or school counselor can also receive shoes.

How to Pick Up

Groceries are distributed Monday through Friday from 9:15 to 11:00 a.m. Sack lunches for people experiencing homelessness are handed out Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. No appointment is needed for either service.

Additional Support

Inner City Development runs several programs for the community beyond food:

  • An after-school reading program for students in 2nd through 5th grade, with field trips, art activities, and special projects, held Monday through Friday from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m.
  • A free summer recreation program for over 300 neighborhood children, alongside a summer job-training program for neighborhood youth.
  • A spring basketball league for students in grades 3 through 6.
  • A Christmas Toy Sale where parents can pick out gifts for their children at just 10% of the original price.
  • Informal counseling for individuals and families.
  • Community service opportunities for people fulfilling probation requirements or service hours for school or church.
