Grace Lutheran Church Food Pantry
Who Can Visit?
The Grace Lutheran Food Pantry is open to everyone. You don't need an appointment to visit. Virginia residents qualify to receive USDA-provided food. If you're a Virginia resident who doesn't qualify for USDA food, or if you live outside Virginia, you'll still receive food and won't leave empty-handed.
Items Needed for Registration
You don't need to bring documents to receive food. If you've already been issued a Southeastern VA Food Bank card, bring it with you. Otherwise, the pantry will issue you one. You will need to share the makeup of your household (including the age of each member), your monthly household income, and any benefits your household receives, such as SNAP, TANF, or Social Security.
How Often You Can Visit?
Each household may visit the food pantry once a week.
Good to Know
The pantry is open most Mondays from 9:00 AM to 12:45 PM. Please don't wait until the last minute to arrive. When you get there, park and head to the double glass doors under the covered walkway about halfway up the building. Outside those doors you'll sign in, then wait in one of the provided chairs until a volunteer calls you in for an intake interview. The pantry is located at 521 Providence Road, between two other churches. It's the one without a steeple, but it has a big white cross in the front yard.
How to Pick Up
When you arrive, you sign in outside the double glass doors and wait until a volunteer calls you in for an intake interview. Reviewers describe the experience as warm and welcoming, with volunteers who give with joy.
