Food & Essentials
The pantry offers nutritionally balanced food, and clients choose from a list of options. This includes frozen meats, poultry, and seafood, as well as fresh produce. Along with food, you can receive personal care items and household cleaning products, and the pantry tries to keep pet food available too. During the summer, a Fresh-n'-Free Produce Market offers extra produce donated by local farms.
How to Pick Up
This is a client-choice pantry. Clients choose from a list of nutritionally balanced options, so you can pick the food that works best for your household.
Additional Support
Beyond regular food, the pantry offers extra help:
- Once a month, gift cards for gas or diesel are available to help with transportation.
- During the summer, the Fresh-n'-Free Produce Market runs on Saturdays and is open to all. Local farms donate extra produce, which the pantry passes on to anyone who can use it.
- Holiday baskets are available during Thanksgiving and the Spring and Winter holidays. These include the "fixins" for a holiday meal plus some extra goodies.
- The pantry provides supplemental snacks to the Kerhonkson Elementary School.
Ways to Give
There are several ways to support the pantry:
- By mail: Send a check to P.O. Box 12, Accord, NY 12404.
- Online: Use PayPal to make a direct donation.
- Over the phone: For an in-kind donation, call 845-626-7501 and leave a message, and someone will get back to you.
The pantry obtains much of its food from the New York Regional Food Bank at discounted rates, so money donations help buy more of what clients prefer. If you'd rather buy items to donate, the pantry can always use personal care items, household cleaning products like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, laundry and dish detergent, and pet food.
How to Join the Team?
