Who Can Visit?
The Food Cupboard serves individuals and families across all of Monroe County. You do not need to show proof of address to receive groceries.
Items Needed for Registration
Bring a picture ID. Identification is required at every visit.
How Often You Can Visit?
Guests may receive groceries every week.
Good to Know
The Food Cupboard uses a "shopping method," so you are invited in and given the chance to pick out the foods you need rather than receiving a pre-packed box.
Food & Essentials
The cupboard stocks pantry staples such as canned chicken and tuna, peanut butter, cereal, dry pasta, pasta sauce, canned fruits and vegetables, and soups. Household essentials like toilet paper and bar soap are also available.
How to Pick Up
This is a client-choice pantry. Guests are welcomed inside and shop the various food tables, selecting the items they need with help from volunteers.
Ways to Give
Donations can be placed in the bins located near the entrances to the church office, sanctuary, and chapel. Requested items include canned chicken or tuna, peanut butter, cereal, dry pasta, pasta sauce, canned fruits and vegetables, soups of any variety, and toilet paper and wrapped bar soap. Cash or checks made out to "Third Presbyterian Church Food Cupboard" are also welcome. For questions about giving, you can reach Rose Fletcher at rfletcher@thirdpresbyterian.org or 585-271-6513.
How to Join the Team?
Volunteers keep the Food Cupboard running. On Thursdays, eight volunteers arrive before 8:45 a.m. to greet clients and help them shop at the food tables until 11:45 a.m. On Tuesdays, five to seven volunteers come at 1:00 p.m. to stock shelves and set up for Thursday morning. Substitutes are also a vital help. Every new volunteer receives an overview of the Food Cupboard and Foodlink along with a thorough orientation and training. To get involved, sign up through the volunteer program or contact Rose Fletcher at rfletcher@thirdpresbyterian.org or 585-271-6513.
