Who Can Visit?

The Salvation Army is committed to serving anyone in need without discrimination based on age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, marital status, disability, citizenship, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. Depending on the location, there may be certain eligibility requirements, so it's a good idea to contact your local Salvation Army to learn more before your first visit.

Good to Know

A typical visit provides a three-to-five-day supply of nutritionally balanced groceries, completely free of charge. Visitors have noted that they give you a lot of food, and one visitor shared that they received enough food for their family for at least three weeks. The pantry also offers easy parking, including handicap parking and handicap access.

Food & Essentials

The pantry supplies nonperishable food and dry pantry goods, with a focus on balanced grains, canned vegetables and fruits, proteins, and pasta. At certain locations, fresh produce is also available in food parcels, including potatoes, lettuce, other vegetables, and fruit.

How to Pick Up

Visitors come to the pantry to receive groceries directly. For those with limited time or mobility, the pantry also offers food parcel services. A typical food parcel includes enough food for about two to three meals a week depending on household size, packaged and available to pick up curbside or delivered to your home. Make a call to confirm which options are available and to schedule a pickup if needed.

Additional Support

Beyond food, this location also helps with utility assistance. The Salvation Army also offers SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) resources at certain locations, where caseworkers and volunteers can help you apply for food stamps. The broader organization also offers family services including job skills training, after-school programs, emergency rent assistance, and referrals to other social services.

Ways to Give

The Salvation Army accepts cash donations and nonperishable food items. You can donate goods such as gently used clothing, toys, and household items at drop-off locations. There are over 2,500 drop-off locations across the United States. To donate money online, visit the Salvation Army donation page. You can also donate goods through satruck.org.

How to Join the Team?

The Salvation Army welcomes volunteers to help at food pantries, assist at shelters, organize food drives, and more. To find volunteer opportunities in your area, visit the volunteer page or contact your local Salvation Army directly through the location finder.
