Who Can Visit?
Your Harvest House serves individuals and families living in Johnson County and southern Tarrant County, including Burleson, Alvarado, Keene, Cleburne, Venus, Joshua, Lillian, Godley, Grandview, Rio Vista, Crowley, Everman, and parts of south Fort Worth. You must live in one of their service area zip codes to receive food. On your first visit, no appointment is needed. You'll complete a short intake form and receive a food bundle as long as you live in the service area. After your first visit, you'll schedule an appointment to bring your documents for verification.
Items Needed for Registration
Before your second pantry visit, bring the following:
- Photo ID for all adults (18 and older): driver's license, state ID, passport, Mexican ID, or jail ID
- Proof for minors (under 18): birth certificate naming you as parent, or court custody papers if you're not the parent
- Proof of address: utility bill (water, gas, or electric) or an official letter showing your address
- Proof of income: pay stubs, bank statements, benefits letters, or tax return from the last 30 days; government award letters (SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, child support, food stamps); or proof of support from family or apps like Cash App or Venmo if you have no income
How Often You Can Visit?
Clients may receive food once a month. Homeless clients may receive smaller portions of food more frequently.
Good to Know
The pantry aims to provide enough food to support each household for one week. You don't need an appointment for your very first visit, and staff and volunteers are happy to help if you're not sure whether you qualify. Someone else can pick up food on your behalf if you set it up ahead of time during your intake interview.
Food & Essentials
Depending on what's available, your grocery package may include canned goods and pantry staples, fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, dairy, and frozen items, bread, rice, and beans, and hygiene and household essentials.
How to Pick Up
When you arrive, check in with a volunteer or staff member. You'll complete a brief intake form on your first visit, and volunteers will help you load your groceries into your vehicle. Reviewers describe it as a place where you can pick the food you take home.
Additional Support
Beyond food, Harvest House offers a range of programs to help families get back on their feet:

- Getting Ahead Program: a small-group class focused on breaking cycles of poverty through education, community, and goal-setting, with childcare and meals provided
- Education Program: ESL language classes, job readiness workshops with Express Employment Professionals, and help applying for Medicaid, SNAP, and TANF
