The Time Dollar Community Table food pantry is open to all Bexar County residents who meet income guidelines.
Who Can Visit?
House of Neighborly Service serves older adults and families in San Antonio's Westside community, especially those in the 78207 zip code. The warm meal delivery program is designed for seniors who need hot lunches brought to them. Care packages are taken on home visits to seniors and families living in deep poverty. Reviewers also mention a food pantry for anyone who needs help with food. Call (210) 434-2301 to find out which services are right for you.
Good to Know
Each meal delivery is more than just food. Volunteers check in on seniors during every visit to make sure their basic needs are met, and for many seniors, a volunteer's visit may be their only human contact that day. In 2025, HNS distributed over 30,000 meals to older adults and served 367 seniors through its programs.
Food & Essentials
The organization delivers warm lunches to seniors every weekday. Care packages provided during home visits include non-perishable food items, with canned vegetables, rice, and beans being the most needed. Packages also include baby wipes, baby formula, books for young children (ages 0 to 18 months), grocery store and gas gift cards, socks and underwear for children and adults, basic kitchenware such as dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils, dental hygiene supplies, and feminine hygiene products.
How to Pick Up
Warm lunches are delivered directly to seniors at their homes through delivery routes covering the 78207 zip code. Curbside distribution is also available for those who come to the building at 407 N Calaveras.
Additional Support
HNS offers several programs beyond food. The Child and Family Wellness program includes parenting classes for parents. Play therapy is provided for children. The Kid's Place Child Development Center offers early childhood education. Older adult wellness programming includes health and wellness activities. Call (210) 434-2301 or visit hnstoday.org to learn more about available programs.
